Glenn D. Wright 812.537.8837 215-B West High Street Lawrenceburg, IN 47025 The County Recorder was the first office created by the Constitution of the State of Indiana in 1816. The Recorder is elected to a four-year term, with a two term limitation. It is the primary duty of the County Recorder to record instruments submitted for recording and maintain those records for perpetuity. As the Recorder's staff, we are dedicated to maintaining and preserving the records of the county. However, the Recorder's staff WILL NOT perform searches or provide legal opinions. You may request a copy of recorded documents in our office with a charge on $1 per page. Copies must be paid for before the request can be completely processed. If you request copies by mail, you must know the recording information and supply us with a postage paid envelope. This still costs you $1 per page for the copies. Otherwise, please feel free to come to our office and access the information from one of our public computers. Our office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday. If you should have any questions, please feel free to call us at 812.537.8837.
