Southeast Regional Community Corrections
Community Service Team Member
 
Position: Part-time Community Service Program Event Team Member (Saturdays 8:30 am. To 4:30 pm.)
Reports To: Community Service Coordinator/Southeast Regional Community Corrections Program Coordinator
Work:   As assigned. Attend, coordinate and supervise Community Service Events under 48 Hour Program & Juvenile Community Service Program
 
Responsibility: 
·         To ensure that participants ordered to complete Community Service hours are performing work details and ensuring quality of performance. The Community Service Team Member will delegate assigned jobs to participants and ensure proper safety standards are in compliance.
 
Duties: 
·         Prepare inventory and collection of supplies for Community Service Event from prepared event log.
·         Verify attendance, hours owed, completed and left for Community Service and collect money orders on behalf of SERCC for Community Restitution Fees due from participants on a SERCC Program. Collected fees are deposited into SERCC Fee Lock box immediately. Return all SERCC forms to the Community Service Coordinator following end of shift.
·         Assist with safe transport of individuals to scheduled Community Service Events. Maintain daily mileage and work logs. 
·         Monitor and report any violations of the SERCC Community Service Restitution Program to Community Service Coordinator. 
·         Incumbent works in field, often in a vehicle and is in constant contact with program participants. Ability to physically exert between 10 – 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
·         Assist Community Service Coordinator in maintaining equipment inventory, cleaning equipment once it is returned and storage.  Prepare list of necessary supplies and fuel for future Community Service Events.
 
Qualifications:
·         High School Diploma with experience or some college credit towards the criminal justice system. 
·         Ability to meet all hiring requirements of Dearborn County Government.
·         Complete knowledge of standard policies and practices of Dearborn County legal process, with ability to effectively apply and enforce applicable policies and procedures, as well as, complete required reports and logs.
·         Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all Department records and information.
·         Must possess a valid Driver License; demonstrate safe driving record, have no felony criminal history and ability to be bonded.
·         Must be able to pass a physical examination and drug test.
·         Ability to work swiftly, rationally and decisively with all individuals. Ability to effectively supervise Community Service participants, including making work assignments, providing instruction, evaluating performance and providing corrective discipline.
·         Ability to work Saturdays. Have personal cell phone available for emergency use and contact with project coordinator.

Position: Health Educator/RN
 
SUMMARY
Position serves as Health Educator/RN for Dearborn County Health Department, responsible for developing and implementing health programs throughout the community.
 
DUTIES:
·         Ensures compliance with all applicable Dearborn County Health Department policies and procedures, Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) and Indiana Academic standards, HIPAA regulations, and all other Federal and State laws relating to privacy, confidentiality, and service delivery.
·         Provides Public Health education to county schools. 
·         Provides grant writing for Nursing Division.
·         Public speaking presentations and seminars.
·         Attends meetings in community to promote public relations.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
·         Baccalaureate Degree in Health Education and current licensing as Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana.
·         Must be at least 21 years of age.
·         Ability to meet all Department hiring requirements, including passage of medical exam and drug test.
·         Knowledge of public health laws, academic standards, and accepted principles and practices of public health nursing.

Southeast Regional Community Corrections
Position:          Full-time Field Officer
Work:              As assigned
 
Field Officer Duties:
Incumbent serves as Field Officer for Southeast Regional Community Corrections.
 
·         Responsible for monitoring program participants while in the Community Corrections program. 
·         Enforces local, state and federal laws by implementing effective SERCC policies/procedures to ensure public safety.
·         Able to work rotating shifts, which may include 1st and 2nd shift hours. Be available during 24 hour on call status for emergencies as directed by SERCC Program Coordinator & Executive Director. 
·         Supervise offenders sentenced to Home Incarceration and Work Release, in the field or employment, to ensure compliance with rules and regulations of Southeast Regional Community Corrections. Administer random drug & alcohol testing as well as maintain records of violations. Conduct random home and /or employment visits & maintain telephone contact with offenders to assess compliance with program conditions. 
·         Conducts SERCC Program Intake appointments and installation, monitoring & troubleshooting of monitoring equipment. Expediently updates documentation into SERCC manual and automated systems and maintain daily reports, records and logs, and ensures proper caseload documentation.
·         Monitor home detention & work release clients, maintain record of contacts, social media activity and location monitoring for compliance with SERCC program rules & regulations. Report and collect any unusual activity and/or violations to present to the Courts. 
·         Provide legal testimony at court hearings, both in and out of Dearborn County, as needed.
·         Maintain daily SERCC vehicle mileage, fuel & work logs. Maintain all SERCC vehicles maintenance and Field Officer Equipment for cleanliness and service.   Maintain monitoring equipment Radio Frequency and Global Positioning Units for quantity, ensure proper usage and to trouble shoot problem units. 
·         Attend professional development workshops, training and seminars pertinent to the job of Field Officer/ Field Officer Supervisor as recommended by SERCC Program Coordinator, Executive Director or Dearborn County. 
 
Qualifications:
·         High School Diploma and working towards or received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or has Military or Law Enforcement Experience.
·         Must be at least Twenty-One (21) years of age.
·         Ability to meet all hiring requirements of Dearborn County Government/ SERCC Policies and Procedures.
·         Completion of Field Officer Training and possession or ability to obtain First Responder/CPR certification.
·         Ability to meet all Department hiring requirements, including passage of a physical & psychological examination, as well as, a drug & alcohol test.
·         Complete knowledge of standard policies and practices of Dearborn County legal process.
·         Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all Department records and information.
·         Must possess a valid Driver License.
·         Ability to work swiftly, rationally and decisively with all individuals.
