All cash bail bonds shall become a personal asset of the defendant and shall be held in trust by the Clerk of Courts and shall be applied towards payment of the defendant’s fines, costs, fees, restitution, judgments, and public defender reimbursement. The cash bail system in Dearborn County is a fifty percent (50%) cash bail system and any person who fails to appear shall be responsible to the court for the full amount which is equal to two times the amount ordered to be posted.
When multiple charges are filed against a person on the same arrest, the bond shall be set by the most serious charge placed against the person and shall not be stacked by the lesser charges.
All persons released on bail prior to the initial hearing shall appear for their initial hearing at 9:00 A.M. on the next business day for court proceedings. All persons shall be further advised that a failure to appear will result in revocation of bail and the issuance of an arrest warrant for failure to appear.
A corrections officer shall call the Judge on-call if any exceptional circumstances exist in a particular case which may warrant a deviation from this Bail order.
