Stormwater

In 2011 The State of Indiana passed legislation giving authority to the county drainage board to investigate drainage problems outside of legal drains.

For a fee, the Dearborn County Surveyors Office can do Stormwater Investigations; however, before a complaint form is submitted it is the responsibility of the complainant party to make an attempt to resolve the conflict between the two parties. 

If a complaint is filed it must be done so with the forms linked below and they must be delivered to our office in person with the fee.

If a problem is found and cannot be resolved between the two parties the Drainage Board may take action and the costs associated with the action will be billed to any parties that benefit from the action taken.
